Southam

  Cycle Route

The Project:

We want to create a safe cycle route from Coventry/Rugby island running parallel to the Coventry road ending in Long Itchington. We are hoping to push the route back into the Cemex land so it will be completely traffic-free, off the road.

This is a local project so we're hoping you will support us! You can help by clicking the link below and signing the petition...

Please note that as this project is in early stages we will not be accepting donations.

Why We Think This Will Be of Benefit:

1.  Improve life in Southam

The cycle route will encourage walking & cycling. When you exercise your body becomes fitter & releases endorphins which can increase your positive outlook.

2.  It will make the roads safer
The cycle route will separate the road traffic, cycling & walking. Fewer obstructions on the road to slow the traffic while much safer routes for cycling and walking.

3.  It will help slow down climate change
Every trip taken by bike or walking is one less person taking a  car trip. Less car use means less Carbon Dioxide released, which helps to save our planet.

4.  It will increase tourism
The route will be a beautiful pathway between the Historic town of Southam to the beautiful village of Long Itchington. It will also link Southam to the existing National cycle route.
